Betsy Lister was the only lay person to be a candidate for a seat on the Governor's Highway Safety Bureau and has testified on behalf of Massachusetts Motorcyclists before the Commissioner of Insurance at the rate setting hearings, 2002, 2003 and 2004 and continues to fight for fairness for motorcyclists' insurance and motorcyclists' rights.

Betsy E Lister was Past President of the Salem Street Business Association, which merged with the Medford Chamber of Commerce December of 2007.
